Olson Engineering works closely with clients to develop safe and cost-effective approaches for repair and rehabilitation of structures and infrastructure to meet the safety, performance, and budgetary needs of our clients. Our goals are to:

Service Life, Olson Engineering

Service Life

Olson Engineering uses scientific-based strategies to perform Service Life Prediction of reinforced concrete structures.

  • We use Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR), coring, and a variety of tests on concrete structures to assess carbonation and chloride penetration
  • We provide a depth of penetration vs depth of steel reinforcement analysis to determine remaining life of existing structures using Fick’s Second Law of Diffusion
  • Our services can help our clients make economic decisions based on remaining service life about when to repair or rehabilitate
